BREEAM Healthcare Assessments
As part of our BREEAM Assessment services, Briary Energy can provide BREEAM Healthcare Assessments. Our experience of the Healthcare sector, from hospitals to nursing homes, enables us to apply the BREEAM Healthcare assessment methodology for the Department of Health and the Welsh Health Estates.
BREEAM Healthcare will replace the existing NEAT (NHS Environmental Assessment Tool), requiring all new hospitals to achieve a BREEAM rating of 'Excellent'.
As of 1stof July 2008, the Department of Health required, as part of the Outline of Business Case approval, that all new builds achieve an 'Excellent' and all refurbishments achieve a 'Very Good' rating under BREEAM Healthcare.
BREEAM Healthcare can be used to assess all healthcare buildings containing medical facilities, and at different stages of their lifecycle:
- New builds
- Major refurbishments
- Extensions
- Existing buildings in operation
It is also a requirement that traffic and travel issues are fully addressed with the requirement for a Travel Plan being mandatory.
Briary Energy are able to offer many of these additional design and advisory services to help your development achieve your desired level of sustainability.
